Where you’ll be

Dogs are very welcome in our cottage "liten uggla" – feel free to bring your four-legged friends!

The cottage is lovingly furnished and offers space for families or small groups:

  • Bedroom 1: Two single beds that can be pushed together if needed.
  • Bedroom 2: Bunk bed – especially popular with children and teenagers. Both rooms have windows and provide bright, friendly spaces.

The open kitchen invites you to cook and relax and is fully equipped. Enjoy your home-cooked meals or a small snack here. The adjoining dining and living area offers plenty of space for cozy evenings.

The daylight bathroom includes a shower, toilet and washing machine – everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The veranda invites you to relax, and a barbecue is available for enjoyable grill evenings.

    On request we deliver breakfast directly to your holiday cottage in the morning (delivery time: 7:30–10:00). You can choose freely on which days you would like breakfast – only on the first morning or on several days.

    Breakfast includes:

    • Fresh bread & crispbread
    • Butter & jam
    • Boiled egg
    • A glass of breakfast juice
    • Cold cuts or cheese platter per person

    A coffee machine and coffee powder are available in the cottage – coffee or tea are not included in the delivery.

    Breakfast can be conveniently ordered and paid for via the digital guest guide. Each guest automatically receives the link after booking.

📶 WiFi is free of charge for our guests.

🛏️ Bed linen and towels can be rented for 150 SEK per person.

🧹 Final cleaning is already included in the price.

🚗 Our holiday cabins are centrally located along Road 166. "liten uggla" is the first cabin in the row when coming from the road. The parking area is located directly next to the cabin.

🌊 Our lake: It is an artificially created lake. In case of heavy rainfall, we need to regulate the water level to prevent flooding.


House Rules:

🚭 Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors but permitted on the veranda.

👟 According to Swedish custom, we kindly ask our guests to remove their shoes inside the cabin.

🍖 Barbecuing is only permitted in the designated area. Please clean the grill after use.

⚡ Charging electric vehicles is not allowed on our premises.

🔇 Please remember to reduce all activities to room volume after 10:00 PM to respect nighttime quiet hours.

🚤 Dalsland Canal & Håverud: Explore the beautiful Dalsland Canal by boat or visit the engineering marvel in Håverud: a spectacular lock system with four locks and a historic aqueduct bridge crossing the river. 👉 Learn more


🦌 Moose Park in Ed (Dalslands Moose Ranch): Experience moose up close! The park in Ed (about 45 minutes away) offers exciting encounters with the “kings of the forest.” Tip: A public walking trail goes around the park – with a bit of luck, you can also see the animals from outside for free. 👉 Visit website


🏖️ Swimming Spots in the Region: Vita Sannar near Mellerud: Large sandy beach with well-maintained lawns – dogs are allowed to swim in a designated area. Kappo (Dalskog): Small, quiet public bathing spot just about 4 minutes by car from our cabins. Perfect for a refreshing summer swim.


🌿 Baldersnäs Manor & Park: A beautiful manor house with a park, café, and small shops – ideal for a relaxing walk.


🐎 Dalsland Activities (Dalslands Aktiviteter): Adventure park, high ropes course, canoe rental & horseback riding – perfect for families and active holidaymakers. 👉 Link


☔🔬 Innovatum Science Center (Trollhättan): The Innovatum Science Center in Trollhättan is perfect for families, especially when the weather isn’t great. Here, kids (and adults!) can explore scientific phenomena through play, experiments, and hands-on exhibits. Ideal for an exciting half-day trip – about 1 hour by car from Dalskog. 👉 Website


Restaurants & Cafés

There are several restaurants, cafés, and snack bars in the region. Here are three personal favorites we especially recommend:


🍰 Ekholmens Summer Café: A charming seasonal café open during the summer months. About 6 minutes by car from us – perfect for a relaxing coffee break with cake and a typical Swedish fika.


🍦 Small Summer Café in Dalskog (at the campsite): A small café right in Dalskog – great for families. They serve ice cream on a stick or in a cone – perfect for warm summer days.


🍕 Pizzeria Lucan (Dals Rostock): A small pizzeria in Dals Rostock, just a few minutes by car. Ideal for take-away!


🛍️ Shopping & Enjoyment

Nearby The small town of Mellerud, just 12 km away, offers cozy cafés, restaurants, and the shopping center “Mellerud Handel” right on the E45 highway. Here you’ll find, among other things: Coop (large supermarket), Pharmacy Drugstore & sports shop, Café-restaurant and of course: many Swedish sweets.


Dals Rostock, a small village just 6 km from us, is also worth a visit. There you’ll find the charming little grocery store “Byxfickan” – a traditional “Tante-Emma” shop with personal service and regional flair.

💡 Special tip: At Byxfickan, you can also borrow the key to visit the old Dals Rostock train station building. This small house has been rebuilt at half the size of the original and now hosts an exhibition about the history of the railway and the village – perfect for a short nostalgic stop.
